SUMMARY:Scriptural Reasoning Meetings: Peace Building (Brussels)
DESCRIPTION:Dear friends\, \nTomorrow\, Saturday 26 of June at 13:30 hrs\, Arco Forum will organise the twenty-third session of the Scriptural Reasoning Meetings under the title “Peace Making”\, in the frame of the Youth Creative CommUnity campaignof the European CommUnity Project. This session will take place in a very exciting context: the CommUnity Summer Days Festival in Brussels\, a meeting place for diverse cultures to promote intercultural dialogue\, diversity and coexistence in harmony! \nScriptural Reasoning is a novel concept developed by the Cambridge Interfaith Programme at the Cambridge University that helps address different current issues and their connections with the sacred Scriptures | Presentation of the Scriptural Reasoning activity. \nDuring the course of the activity the participants will enjoy an assortment of Spanish desserts. \nText. Click here for reading the sacred texts that will be studied during the session. \nLimited capacity. To participate it is essential to fill out this form and receive a confirmation email. \nGuidelines: It is important that all the participants read the document “Guidelines for all participants” before the event. \nAnd on Sunday\, 27 of June at 19:15 hrs at the stage of the festival\, we will talk about the Scriptural Reasoning Meetings and present a summary of all the activities that we have carried out over the last few months in the framework of the Youth Creative CommUnity campaign! \nArco Forum will participate in the Festival with the following activities: \n1. Saturday 06.26.2021\, 13:30 hrs: Scriptural Reasoning session (subject: “Peace Making”). \n2. Saturday 26.06.2021\, 15:00 hrs: Opening concert by JOIRE (Joven Ensemble Interreligioso Español / Spanish Youth Interfaith Ensemble). \n3. Sunday 06.27.2021\, 19:15 hrs: Presentation of the initiative “Scriptural Reasoning Meetings”\, created from the Cambridge Interfaith Programme. \n4. Sunday 06.27.2021\, 19:45 hrs: Closing concert of the festival. The weekend will conclude with an impressive choral performance from Spain by JOIRE again. \n \nInformation about the past and upcoming sessions\nOver the past and next few months\, we are organising the following sessions\, the topics of which you can see below\, by creating stable groups that meet once a month. Anyone interested in participating\, as well as organisations that want to collaborate to organise the groups\, are welcome! \nThe topics of the sessions are as follows\, with the possibility of incorporating new topics of interest to the participants: \n\nPeace Making\nEnvironmental issues\nReconciliation\nRiots and rebellion\nLeadership\nNon-violent responses to haters\nThe Cosmos and Creation\nRefugees\nFasting\n\n \nCommUnity Project\nThis activity is included in the CommUnity project\, which is co-financed by the European Commission. 11 public and private institutions from 7 EU countries participate in this project. The CommUnity project aims to address issues such as marginalisation\, inequality\, discrimination and denial of rights and create new opportunities to promote peace and shared values ​​through artistic and cultural expression. By giving a voice to young people who feel marginalised or treated unfairly\, we can build powerful communities with a greater sense of belonging\, well-being and self-esteem. \nYouth Creative CommUnity Campaign\nYouth Creative CommUnity aims to engage with young people through the lens of arts and creativity. To that end\, within different Youth Clubs\, small artistic groups are established and artistic activities are being organised. The Youth Creative Clubs are guided by artists and youth workers. \nYoung people are encouraged to find creative ways to express themselves in various forms\, such as music\, painting\, digital animation\, graffiti or photography. Moreover\, the participants will have the chance to present their works in a two-day Festival. DESCRIPTION:Encuentro Interreligioso ‘Fratelli tutti’\nTodos hermanos en un mundo de divisiones \nCon motivo de la publicación de la nueva encíclica del Papa Francisco\, ‘Fratelli tutti’\, desde la Asociación Amistad y Encuentro Interreligioso (AAEI)\, en colaboración con Arco Forum y muchas otras entidades\, se ha decidido celebrar un encuentro fraterno para el miércoles 18 de noviembre en el que representantes de distintas religiones presentes en nuestro país puedan expresar sus opiniones y compartir sus sentimientos en torno a este documento. (Resumen de la encíclica “Fratelli tutti”) \nDebido a la situación provocada por la pandemia de coronavirus y a las restricciones que de ella derivan\, el encuentro se llevará a cabo vía online y se transmitirá en directo por las cuentas de la AAEI en Facebook y Twitter\, y el Canal de Youtube de Arco Forum. Comenzará a las 20.00h y terminará a las 21.15h.
